Sekelompok ahli dari Universitas New York meyakini mereka telah menemukan alasan warna rambut memutih seiring bertambahnya usia.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dalam sebuah studi baru yang para ilmuwan itu terbitkan pekan ini, mereka menemukan proses rambut beruban dalam penelitian yang mengamati sel di kulit tikus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penemuan ini dapat membantu ahli untuk mengembangkan pengobatan yang dapat menghentikan proses beruban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penelitian menunjukkan sel punca dapat tersangkut seiring bertambahnya usia rambut. Dampaknya, rambut dapat kehilangan kemampuannya untuk mempertahankan warna saat semakin tua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahli meneliti ini pada sel-sel yang ada di kulit tikus. Menurut mereka, hal ini juga terjadi pada manusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pemimpin studi yang berasal dari NYU Langone Health, Qi Sun, mengatakan penelitian ini mungkin bisa mempertahankan sel punca melanosit yang ada pada manusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Jika demikian, ini menghadirkan jalur potensial untuk membalikkan atau mencegah uban pada rambut manusia. Dengan membantu sel yang terhambat untuk bergerak lagi di antara kompartemen folikel rambut yang sedang berkembang,” kata Sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahli juga mengatakan cara lain mengatasi uban adalah dengan menjaga nutrisi dan mengurangi stres. Menurut mereka mengelola kecemasan dapat memulihkan proses pigmentasi untuk sementara waktu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penelitian lain menunjukkan genetika, atau DNA kita, dapat menentukan waktu rambut seseorang beruban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menurut Dr. Yusure Al-Nuaimi, studi pada tikus ini menambah pemahaman pada manusia tentang folikel rambut dan bagaimana sel penghasil pigmen berfungsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Kami telah menemukan lebih banyak tentang terapi sel punca untuk kondisi termasuk kerontokan rambut. Penelitian seperti ini, dengan temuan baru tentang sel penghasil warna, dapat mengarah pada serangkaian pilihan pengobatan di masa depan untuk pasien kami,” ujar Nuami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
